Research Paper

A Reading or special studies course in an Energy related topic must be taken during the student’s final semester of residence in the M.A. Program; this is the credit basis for the research paper. It cannot be taken sooner. The student and his advisor will select an appropriate research project. A committee of 3 professors will be formed with one of them being the main reader. The main reader will be in charge of the development and general quality of the paper.

At the end of the semester the student will give an oral presentation (Defense) to his/her committee.

Plagiarism in the writing of this or any other paper is a very serious offense. It is avoidable if all sources used are carefully and properly referenced. Those not familiar with the appropriate procedures are urged to consult K. L. Turabian, A Manual for Writers, University of Chicago Press. Plagiarism is grounds for immediate expulsion from the program.
